Sherrod D. Seward is a nationally respected lawyer with a record of successful advocacy for some of the world’s best athletes, entertainers, and business leaders. Prior to practicing law, Sherrod was an international trade finance consultant, specializing in global trade solutions from the Export-Import Bank of the United States.
Even while in law school, Sherrod was adamant about bringing his expertise and first-hand experience to the international sports community by managing several prominent mixed martial arts fighters. Sherrod advised on the careers of several athletes who became champions in the Ultimate Fighting Championships.
Sherrod’s origins in international sports and entertainment relate all the way back to his elementary school days, where he played soccer with French-speaking foreign nationals at his public language immersion school (Kenwood in Columbus, OH – Go Koalas!). Since then, Sherrod has solved problems for athletes and sports professionals from around the world, including countries such as Kazakhstan, Brazil, South Africa, United Kingdom, Argentina, Australia, and more. He has obtained a P-1 visa for clients from every continent besides Antarctica.
Sherrod received his Bachelor's degree from Hampton University, where he played in the Drumline. He then attended law school at Cleveland-Marshall Law in Cleveland, Ohio, where he studied sports law under former IMG General Counsel and well-respected sports attorney, Peter Carfargna. Sherrod approaches his immigration practice with the same tenacity he applies to anything mixed martial arts or Cleveland sports affiliated. Since founding Oakhurst Immigration Law, he has expanded his practice to serve not just athletes but all kinds of extraordinarily talented artists, performers, film industry professionals, and more.
